Yin
is not like other Siamese; he doesn't know how to meow. He makes all
kinds of little chirpy sounds that earn him the nickname "Girly Man." But
when the doorbell rings, he growls like a ferocious dog, and then runs and
hides under the bed.
Yin has a funny thing he does that always makes us laugh. His favorite toy is
a faux fur orange carrot with feathers on the end and catnip inside. Every
day, several times during the day and over night, Yin will leave us his carrot
as his calling card. Sometimes he brings it silently and then disappears. We
only know he's been there when we find his carrot. Other times he makes all
kinds of "girly man" chirps as he carries his carrot to wherever we are. His
fur is so soft, he feels like a bunny rabbit. How ironic his favorite toy is
a carrot!!!
Yin and Yang are inseparable brothers. Whether they're in the house or in the
yard, they are hardly ever more than a few feet away from each other. But as
much as they love each other, they fight like brothers, too. Yin usually
starts it (we call him the Yinstigator), but Yang always finishes it. And
then they will make up and be best buddies again.
Yin is smart as a whip and has trained us to do many things for him. We have
to let him outside when he starts "treadmilling" on the glass sliding doors.
We have to open the window when he pokes his head through the blinds. We have
to play "birdie" with him when he brings us his carrot. And around fourish each
day, he reminds us to give him his pill, which he loves because the pharmacist
makes it into a treat. He also has one of us trained to feed him any time his
bowl is empty. It's good to be Yin.
