Tim
Tam is a very special cat. When Tim Tam was only five months old, she
lived through a very difficult experience. My husband and I lived in a
high-rise building, on the 17th floor, and Tim Tam's favorite thing to do
was to go out on the balcony and watch the birds. My husband and I tried
really hard to keep her off the balcony and to try to watch her closely
when she was out there. Unfortunately, one day, Tim Tam was watching the
birds a little too closely and before we had a chance to grab her, she
slipped off the balcony railing, falling down 17 floors to the ground. My
husband and I looked for Tim Tam everywhere, thinking she was going to be
dead, however, while we were frantically searching for her, a man
approached us asking what we were looking for. We told him "our cat." He
said, "oh there's a cat sitting in my office..."
We ran into this man's office on the ground floor and lo and behold, Tim
Tam was sitting in the corner holding up her arm in because it was broken.
We raced her to the vet and after many trips to the vet, and a long and
expensive surgery, our Tim Tam came back home.
Since then we've moved into a home where she can now run through the trees
and grass looking at birds the normal way. She has befriended one of our
neighbors dogs and seems to be known by most of our neighbors on our
block. On a couple of occasions, we've been told by our neighbors that Tim
Tam has walked into their homes and made herself quite comfortable
sleeping on their beds and sofas, and even trying out their dog's food!
