Gypsy, the Cat of the Day
Name: Gypsy
Age: Six years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Siamese
Home: South Carolina, USA

Gypsy is a very special cat in many ways. When we got him from some friends at church, he was just a kitten, but he was already very smart, and we only had to show him once where everything was (namely, the litter box, food dish, and water bowl). He has a short little bobtail now because we think he was hit by a car, but we say he's the sports-model. Plus, we don't have to worry about catching his tail in the door as he scoots out at the last minute. Gypsy is really the sweetest fellow, and he loves to curl up with you, especially if you're wearing polar fleece. His eyes actually change color according to his mood. When he's alert and watching the world, his eyes are a light, icy blue, but his eyes get to be the most beautiful, deep, sapphire blue when he's all curled up with you and purring (he has a quiet purr, but you can tell when he purrs by putting a finger to his throat and feeling the little rumbling vibration).

Gypsy's favorite things to do are lap-sitting, hunting, exploring the house and the yard, and spending time with his humans. He especially loves exploring the cabinets. Like most cats, he hates water and loves dried catnip and a little bit of skim milk (and any other dairy products). There's no doubting that he's a true cat; he knows just what you're reading and loves to come sit on it so you can pet him, and if there's human food within reach, he'll try to stick his nose in for a taste!

He's such a wonderful cat, and whether he's voicing his opinions (true Siamese - he has a loud meow to make up for the quiet purr) or plopping down on your lap for a nap, he's a good friend to have around.
