This
is my cat, his name is Archie. He is one of the sweetest kitties around.
He hardly hisses! He will sometimes even jump on peoples' shoulders and
hitch a ride! My mom is allergic to cat hair and I'm allergic to dog dander.
Mom wanted a hairless cat for her anniversary present. So last year, while I
was at school, Mom and Dad went and saw a breeder and picked out Archie. It
was love at first sight! We brought him home a week later. He has lived here
ever since. Archie was six months old at the time. Now he is one year old,
almost two, and is still very sweet. He will look out the window on his perch
and stare at the birds and squirrels. Once, he even saw another cat! Only,
that cat had hair.
Like all sphynxes, he gets cold and will find ways to stay warm. He will sit
on top of the computer, since it is warm, and he will sit by the heater. He
will sleep in a blanket all day, and even sleeps with me at night! As a
result, his body temperature is four degrees warmer than that of other cats.
Plus, unlike other cats, who will just run away when you come to the door,
Archie jumps on top of the chair to see who it is. Also, he purrs louder than
any other cat I've heard. That's probably because he has no hair to soften
it. Mom loves Archie and says he's her baby. She loves to take naps with
him. He even defends us from centipedes and flies by killing them. Sometimes
he gets frisky and playful (he is a doglike kitty and loves to play) and will
start to bite, but we love him anyway. Almost everybody loves Archie and
Archie loves people, too. You will never meet another cat like Archie.
