This
is Huckleberry, "Hucky" for short. He is a domestic tabby classic,
short-haired orange tom cat. Hucky is so special because while on the one hand
he is so butch, jumping from cabinet-top to cabinet-top in death defying
leaps, wrestling with his cat girlfriend from down the hall, but he is also
addicted to love. He is so happy when he is belly-up with my hand caressing
his soft tummy. It's delightful.
I got him from Animal Rescue League in Boston when he was one year old. He had
been surrendered by a family who raised him with dogs; he evidently had a lot
of food competition in the early years because for the first few years when I
would put out his food he would practically swallow it whole while sneaking
glances over his shoulder. That has subsided, thankfully.
I love Hucky.
