Itty
Bitty and his sister, Skiddy Bitty (because she is so skittish), were
born outside of our house. Both are feral kittens. However, Itty Bitty has
decided that he likes us to pet him and recently decided that he loves to be
held... at least in short time increments. When we pet him, he purrs very
loudly and continuously. He has even shown excitement in seeing us when we
come out to the garage to spend time with him.
He loves to eat and hang out with the other five feral kittens that frequent our
house. All but one of the kittens have been fixed. We don't want more than the
ten (four adults and six kittens) that hang out at our house and get fed every day.
The reason that all of this makes him so special is that most feral cats never
let anyone pet them or get close to them. Feral cats are, by nature, very
afraid of people. Sure, they will come to someone's house for food and water.
But, they rarely will let anyone pet them not to mention hold them. So, we
consider Itty Bitty to be a special blessing at our home.
