We
lost our 18.5 year old tabby in February 2010, and our hearts were broken.
Around the same time, I got very ill with a mysterious illness. It luckily
turned out to be Celiac disease but I have a long road ahead to get better. In
September, I was browsing the website of the local humane society and found
an orange tabby called Bucky (who has since been renamed Dexter). I rushed to
the shelter and decided right then and there that he was to come home with me.
He is amazing. He is friendly and smart and we are totally smitten with him. I
call him the healer of hearts and bodies, since my health has greatly improved
since we brought him home. He is the most wonderful boy.
His personality is so sweet. He is so gentle, he has never scratched us or
hissed. He doesn't scratch the furniture and loves to snuggle. His favorite
game is to play fetch. He fetches and brings it back (his mousie, his snake,
all of his toys). He can play this for hours. He loves his people. When we
come home from work, he is thrilled to see us, wants to visit with us even
more than he wants food. He is perfect (and not that I am biased :) ).
