Meet
my golden boy, Corky. He's almost four years old, and he's an orange tabby.
Don't think for a minute, though, that he's average in any way! Around our
house, he's known as D.K. because he's "Da King"! He rules the roost, and
with three brothers and two sisters, he's got a lot of rulin' to do!
He resides in Dearborn Missouri on a farm that's tailor-made for animals. He
likes to venture into the "Big Out" from time to time, but really likes the
creature comforts he finds inside the best. In the colder winter months, his
favorite place to be is stretched out on one of the floor registers. When he
sleeps at night, only mom's pillow offers sufficient comfort, regardless of
how little room remains for her head. Oh, and when he needs to travel from
room to room, or up the stairs, he jumps aboard mom's shoulders and goes for a
ride!
I found this charming boy at a local shelter when he was just a lad. I had
always wanted an orange tabby, and my husband decided it would make the
perfect Christmas present for our first Christmas together. The day we went
to the shelter, there were actually two orange tabbies, and since I couldn't
make up my mind, we actually adopted both of them. Corky was one of those kittens who
melted your heart. He loved to play with anything and everything, but the
moment you picked him up, he melted into a purring puddle. We already had two
cats at that time, and he had tons of fun pestering them! And in the
intervening years, even more have come on board. He pretty much lords over
them all! About two years ago, a Corgi joined the family, and one of Corky's
favorite games is to sit in the living room and swat at her as she runs crazy
circles around him.
It's taken a lot of spoiling, but he's risen to his rank of royalty with style
and grace. I think he'd be very pleased to be recognized on your website, and
would smile upon you with Royal favor!
