How
could Annabelle be anything but special? Look at those gorgeous, golden
eyes! Her coat color looks like a dish of peaches and cream ice cream, and her
unique purr is just as sweet. Annabelle's most interesting feature is her
ability to live very peacefully with our black Lab-mix, Mona. This cat and dog
have some silent understanding and mutual admiration of each other, never
displaying fear or aggression toward the other. They have even been seen
napping together on their owners' bed. Annabelle vocalizes quite loudly,
usually demanding someone to turn on the kitchen water faucet to a slow drip
so she can drink the falling droplets. Like most cats, Annabelle enjoys gazing
out the window to watch the birds at the nearby feeder.
Annabelle is beloved by her owners not only for her beauty and fun
personality, but because she was a rescue cat. She had been surrendered to a
local shelter and had been placed in the adoption area of a PetSmart pet
store. Annabelle was three years old when she was surrendered. The previous owner
didn't give a specific reason for the surrender. All we know is that
Annabelle's first owner had purchased her from a Persian cattery in Katy, Texas
(fyi, the hometown of the actress Renee Zellwegger.) Annabelle doesn't
tolerate grooming very well, although I do try to keep the mats from growing
too numerous. For Annabelle's new adoptive Mommy, it was love at first sight.
She is one of the best kitties we have ever known and we truly love her!
