Malee
and Abigail became fast friends when I brought Abigail home as a small
kitten. They love to be together all the time, as you can see from the photos,
even though they have opposing personalities.
Malee has always had a keen sense of ownership over everything and everyone at
home, so all visitors are warned not to try and touch her. Even when she turns
on the charm to entice visitors, she is actually waiting for them to fall for
her little game and reach out a hand. More than one occasion I have had to
bandage visitors. She will stalk visitors, trying to herd them to the door.
She can get so nasty, a vet is unable to examine her unless she has been
sedated. However, she is not all fierceness and aggression; She loves to speak
and will talk my ear off with strange little squeaks and chirps. She sounds
very similar to a baby raptor (referencing Jurassic Park). She will sleep
anywhere and quite often will sleep on her back with her paws dangling in the
air even when cuddling up to one of the other cats. She thinks I belong to
her; she is kind to one human being only. Me.
When quiet little Abigail was adopted, Malee mothered her immediately with
bathing and cuddles. Abigail is a private cat and doesn't mix with visitors.
She is gentle and affectionate, loves to cuddle up close at night after gently
patting my shoulder with her paw before curling up as closely as possible.
She loves to curl up for cuddles. Even if I'm having a soak in the tub, Abigail
will climb onto my chest and curl up. She doesn't seem to mind if her tail
slips in the water. She does have an affinity for bathrooms, as frequently I
will find her sleeping in the sink. She is devoted to Malee, and loves to
encourage Malee to play and romp through the condo.
When I shower, she watches with interest and I think she is quite intrigued
by the process because when I decide to soak in a tub of water she stands on
the side, stretches up tall to hang onto the towel rack and tilts her head
back under the shower head. She swivels and turns, pretending to shower!
