Who
would have known Buster would grow into an eighteen-pound fluff ball?
His mom was a very small cat with a slick coat (which is why we put Maine
Coon mix, although many people mistake him for a purebred!). Don't let
Buster's size fool you though, he is a scaredy cat through and through!
Buster has a talent for catching his food one piece at a time and as long
as the food is thrown fairly close to him he can catch an entire servings
worth. He also prefers to drink running water from the faucet instead of a
boring bowl and will come tap you on the leg when he is ready for a drink.
Buster is a lap cat and is not too picky about whose lap he should keep
warm (as long as he is no longer afraid of who ever might be visiting that
is).
Buster spends much of his day deflecting attacks from his nemesis Little
Cat. Buster has a hard time moving from room to room without the little cat
grabbing him and hanging on for a ride while Buster tries to run away. Or
if Buster takes too long to make a move from his current safe zone he might
just get whapped in the head while he sits there! While he sometimes hisses
and always runs away we think he secretly enjoys the play. Buster also
loves to sit in any box or container especially if it is too small for his
large frame. We are lucky to have adopted Buster because his original
family had pegged him as the kitten to keep from their litter but decided
they just didn't have room!
