Hello
everybody! My name is Mama Kitty. I received this name when I was
still an outside kitty before I was adopted by my mom. I was a stray kitty
living in rural Pennsylvania. I was afraid of people but my mom and her dog
Casey would come outside and talk to me and I would give Casey head bumps.
My mom, who wasn't my mom yet at the time, would give me food and water.
She says she fell in love with me and wanted me to come inside but I was
very scared.
I am not quite sure how this happened but I ended up with a litter of
kitties in my belly. My mom tells me she saw I was getting pudgy and she
figured I was carrying some kittens. She tried several times to get me to
come into her house with her but I was so very scared still.
One day my mom came out and I was skinny again. She was worried that the
kittens did not survive; however, I kept them hidden under the deck for
about three weeks until one day I decided to bring them out and show her.
Well, when she saw the kittens she was so excited and happy. I let her pet
them a little and they seemed to like her. She says she was determined to
bring us all inside. One day she grabbed the kittens and took them into the
house. I didn't understand what was going on. She tried to coax me to come
in too, but I was still scared.
One day went by and the next morning she grabbed me and held on for dear
life and brought me into her house and into the bathroom where I was
reunited with my kittens. They were very happy to see me and I was happy to
see them.
Mom said she couldn't keep all of us and wanted to find homes for my
kittens which was fine with me once they got teeth! She fell in love with
my kitten Tinker who is a Tuxedo cat and now we live here in the lap of
luxury with mom and Buddy who is another cat at this house. Buddy and I do
not like each other much. He tries to be in charge and of course I want to
be in charge. Sometimes I hiss and growl at him and mom yells at us to
"knock it off".
My mom always has a kind word, ear scratches and an endless supply of food.
If I had known it would be so great I would have come in sooner!
My favorite spot in the house is lying on a small table in front of the
window and watching what goes on outside of my house. Mom calls me "pretty
girl" and says I should be Cat of the Day because I am special.
