Lily
is a very special kitty. She came from a litter of five kittens
delivered by a stray cat at a seminary in the Bronx where my cousin is a
Brother. My cousin found homes for all of the kittens and kept one little
girl for himself. He named her Rose. We named our kitten Tiger Lily. We
brought Lily home when she was eight weeks old. She has adapted well to her life
in suburbia. She loves to be outdoors and especially likes to climb trees.
Lily is quite a beauty and is very loving and affectionate. She loves to be
around people and will follow me all over the house. She waits anxiously for
me to come home from work, watching out the dining room window for my car,
and then greets me at the door. She loves to sit in the dining room window
and observe all the activity outside.
Lily watches the neighborhood children get on the school bus in the morning
and even growls at the mailman when he comes to the door. But mostly she
likes to sleep there curled up in the sunshine. Lily loves so much to be with
people that she doesn't like to be left behind. You can see how sad she is
looking out the front door watching everyone outside on Halloween. She
wanted so badly to join in the fun!
She has been a great companion to our older cat, Pokie, who found us when he
was eight months old. He was a stray cat abandoned by his previous owners. They
are both our little bundles of joy and we can't imagine our lives without them.
