Kittie
was actually a surprise. When her mother, Abbie, got outside one
night, she came back pregnant. A few months later, she had five kittens, two
boys and three girls. When they were old enough to go to new homes, we
couldn't separate from her cute looks and sweet personality. She loves to
play and is very energetic. Her mother and our other cat, Callie, all love
to curl up and sleep together. Kittie also likes to tease our dog, I think
she finds it amusing and as a way to pass the time.
She is a very energetic little thing. She runs back and forth through the
house time and time and time again. Her favorite things to play with are a
shoelace that I tied to the bar in my closet where the clothes hangers go,
she'll play with that for hours. Then there is a small mousie toy that has
catnip in it she loves to toss around. But, her all-around favorite thing
to play with is a paper ball. Someone in the house will go to throw in the
trash can and miss, before we can pick it up, she's there, playing keep
away. She picks it up in her mouth and runs around the house with it. When
she goes in the basement, she bats it around and chases that for a few
more hours (right after playing with the shoelace). Then she'll curl up in
the wheelchair we have down there and take a nap. When everyone is trying
to sleep, usually at two or three o'clock in the morning, she'll sit
outside of a closed bedroom door and yowl and meow very loudly, until
someone gets up and opens the door. Then, she'll jump on the bed and purr,
kneed her claws, and rub her face on yours, begging for attention. I've
learned if you ignore her, and pretend to sleep, she'll lay down beside
you and eventually go to sleep. As you can assume, she's a very
affectionate, (yet somewhat annoying), little kitten, but we love her, all the same.
