This
is Lucius, she just turned two years old. Ms. Lou came to us about a year and a half
ago, just wandered right into our back yard. She was so small and we felt
so bad for her. She really didn't seem like she knew where she was or how
to fend for herself. Although she wouldn't let us touch her or get anywhere
near her, I knew it was meant to be. So, one night while my boyfriend was
out and I was at home eating a frozen spaghetti TV dinner, I heard her
knock something over on our back porch. When I went out I saw her trying to
drink water out of an old takeout cup that had not been thrown away. I felt
so terrible but I didn't have any cat food. So, I went and put some of my
spaghetti and meatballs on a plate and set it outside for her. At first
when I put it there for her she looked at me like she was confused, but
when I left it out there with her she scarfed it right down. And the rest
is history.
She gradually learned to trust my boyfriend and I and we fell in love with
her. She now leads a lazy, cushy life indoors with more toys than she knows
what to do with. Her name is actually a reference to Morgan Freeman's
character in the Batman movies Lucius Fox, because the first thing I said
when we saw her was that she looked just like a fox, and we all love Morgan
Freeman. She loves to give kisses and cuddle. She also loves to curl up
with mom and watch law and order, and sit with dad while he works on the
computer. She's the only pet we have but we really think she likes it
better that way. Despite her humble beginnings with spaghetti and meatballs
her favorite thing to eat now (besides whatever mom and dad are eating) is
soulistic cat food, specifically anything they make with pumpkin soup.
