Kitty, the Cat of the Day
Name: Kitty
Age: Three years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Egyptian Mau mix
Home: Crete, Greece

This my Kitty. She's a half breed Egyptian (with many of their characteristics) and other half unknown. We live on Crete, one of the biggest islands in Europe (it is a Greek island). She's my girl with the green eyes. She's very special to me. I found her when she was two to three months old in a bag, hiding from my sister.

She's very jealous of other cats and doesn't like visitors. She prefers to have a quiet environment. She sleeps in the weirdest places in the world. She'll sleep in shoe boxes, on shoes, plants, swings, pillows, plastic chairs, all kind of boxes, on my sister's school bag or anything that has space for her. She even sleeps on my legs sometimes. She really understands me when I'm in a bad mood or when I'm happy. She comes and asks me to pet her by crying at my legs or sitting next to me. But I never make her angry. I respect animals as much as humans. I don't tease her when she's angry with something or when she's in pain.

She has had a lot of accidents, but she survived. When we first got her, she got stuck in a window and she was trying to release herself, and hit her back and her back legs. I really am thankful to the vet that came at 7 o'clock in the morning to take care of her. She was in a critical situation and was about to die, but survived with some internal problems. She can't absorb all the ingredients from the food very well, so she needs special care. Some time ago, we realized that she was pregnant and about to give birth. We were worried because of her previous accident (we didn't even realize she was still able to have kittens) and took her to the vet. He operated and took the kitties, but they had been dead for three days and she would have died if we had waited to bring her there.

Now she's fine and plays even more. When I open the door she uses the puppy eyes technique to give her a treat or to pet her ... She's so adorable when she wants to eat. She also wakes me up at five in the morning to feed her. She doesn't like to be petted on her at her belly or on her back legs, but she likes me to pet her at a specific point behind the ears. She does a lot of rolling and loves sleeping on pillows. She also sleeps on a swing we have at my garden and when we have visitors and we're sitting at the garden, she sits at the front door on her carpet. She doesn't like when a stranger tries to pet her and makes a scary face like she saw a dog. By the way, she hates dogs. She runs behind dogs to drive them away when she sees one. She's also very curious about stuff and likes to hunt mice and all kind of animals. The most funny thing of all is when she climbs at the windows or talks to me. I ask her "Where's my beauty?" and proudly she answers "Mew!" just like a human!

She the most amazing cat in the world and I would never change her even for the most expensive and pureblood cat in the world.
