This
is Tinker (sometimes Miss Tinks), my baby. She was abandoned at a
veterinary clinic when she was just a ball of fluff, here in Dubai. My mum,
Ellie (our crazy neurotic dog) and I found her there completely by accident,
the only reason we had gone to the vets that day was to see if Ellie's
neuroticism could be fixed, or at least subdued. She's currently living in
Dubai, U.A.E. but, in a couple years she will be moving to retire with us in France!
Now, Ellie was abused as a puppy before we adopted her from a sanctuary and
is aggressive toward all other animals. That was until she decided to sniff
around where little Tinker was waiting for us. We hadn't noticed she'd
wandered until I saw her with her head in the box - assuming she was about to
eat the kitten, I yank her away, only to see that Ellie had actually tried to
wash the little one. This was the first sign, ever, of Ellie not trying to
attack another living thing.
That was eight years ago, and today Tinker is a lot bigger, a little less
fluffier, and not covered in drool! She is adored by myself and the rest of
my family, and of course Ellie. She, herself, is a little crazy now too.
Obviously having Ellie as a mother-figure can do that! But, I think she's
better off for it. And for Ellie, she is still getting much much better than
she was the day we brought her home, enjoying her retirement days in the sun!
Tinker is, safe to say, a little life saver!
