As
a sufferer of Schizoid personality disorder, I'm not a big fan of people.
My apartment was always a cold and empty place. Guests were welcome, but I'd
have enough of them after about thirty minutes.
I got Luci as I really needed a bit of company, and had always got on with
animals. My boss has two cats,both pedigree breeds, and I knew from
experience with them, that a simple lap cat or moggie was definitely not for me.
I needed a cat with a bit of character, one that would run around, be naughty
at times, and wouldn't have a problem with sitting next to me and telling me
off for whatever reason.
I checked out a couple of different breeds, but fell immediately in love with
the Sphynx. Not only did it have the desired personality, but it also looked
different. Most people have seen pictures of her, and the reactions were not
exactly positive, but as soon as they meet her, that all changes.
Luci has been living with me now for about five months, and I couldn't be
without her. She ticks and whinges, wakes me up in the middle of the night,
runs around like a mad thing, but also loves to curl up in my lap on the
sofa, or sit on my shoulder and walk around the flat with me. She's a great
companion for someone who wants some extra company, but they can be a lot of
work due to the lack of fur.
