Alice
is a sphynx, so she's hairless and that makes her pretty unique. But
Alice is also the subject of a website (AliceTheSphynx.com) and the only cat
I know to fly on an airplane for ten hours without crying once.
Alice was my first sphynx and I picked her out the day after she was born
from a picture and visited her every two weeks until I took her home with me.
Her name was picked for her before I even saw her. I had wanted a sphynx
since I was a kid around ten years old. I adopted Alice when I was eighteen after
dreaming of a sphynx for eight years. She was the first "pet" that I adopted all
on my own.
Alice looks like she's pissed off all the time and very grumpy but really
she's super sweet. She loves rubbing against faces and cuddling on my chest.
She always sleeps right up against me under the covers at night and she
always purrs. She taught herself to play fetch and we play with her little
mice. I throw them and she brings them back. Over and over! I don't have many
pictures of her standing, she's a pretty sleepy kitty. If she's awake and
standing she's running!
She is really affectionate and doesn't take "no" for an answer. If she wants
to cuddle it doesn't matter if you move her off your lap twenty times she will
come directly back.
One the airplane trip, she rode in the cabin with me and was with me the
entire time. She never left my sight. She did great, didn't meow at all. I
was more stressed than she was. She is a very good traveler!
