I
rescued Toby the tuxedo cutie, along with his solid gray sister, after they
were abandoned under my house at about two weeks of age. I syringe-fed them
kitten formula until they were old enough to eat soft food, and then kibble.
Both Toby and his sister, with great reluctance, were given to the local
humane society, as I already had a cat to take care of. But I just couldn't
get them off my mind. Calling to check on their status a few days later, the
shelter informed me that Toby's sister had been adopted -- but he hadn't.
Then in a pen by himself, he was so distraught, he refused to eat ever since
his sister had been taken. That was all I needed to hear to know it was my
job to go back and save him. The next day, he was neutered and brought home -
and once back at my house? he ate and ate and ate like he had never seen food
before, despite his drunken antics from the drugs of his neutering. I spent
hours cuddling and snuggling him, letting him know I will never give him up again.
Now he has grown to be a confident kitty, and as you can tell, he even likes
getting his picture taken. He seems to "pose" for me when I have my camera in
hand. He certainly has come a long way!
