This
is Holly, the beautiful Tonkinese kitten from Bay Shore, New York. She
is special because of her sparkling personality. She greets every visitor
with a warm purr and a kiss. Her eyes are a beautiful blue and her color is
platinum. This picture is when she was only five months old. She is still a
small little lady, and I don't have a camera currently, but she looks much
the same, just a bit larger!
Holly is just about one year old now. She is a platinum-point Tonkinese, so
is a lighter colored girl with those beautiful Tonk eyes. She is extremely
friendly to humans and other animals. She prefers males over females for some
reason. When workers come to the house, she is always first to greet them
with a purr and a leg rub. When she hears a male voice she always come
running to introduce herself. Although she is fixed, she still shows a strong
romantic interest in almost any male she comes into contact with. She doesn't
give females any notice. She is an indoor cat and she loves sitting in the
window and looking at the outside world.
One funny story about Holly involves the fact that she went into heat very
early and seemed to be interested in a little squirrel that would come to the
window and look in. It was really cute to see them stare at each other
through the glass. When the weather got warmer I opened the window and
installed the screen. Well, the screen fell out and she got out! By the time
I got to the window I saw her and the squirrel playing together. I ran inside
to get my camera and by the time I returned, I found her trying to get
romantic with that Squirrel! I chased him off, scooped her up and promptly
took her to the vet to be fixed. That Squirrel still comes to the window and
I keep it closed at all times.
She really melts my heart. She is the daughter I never had. She demands my
attention and when I don't give her much, she runs around the house like a
nut, until I pick her up or play with her.
She is certainly a sassy little girl with love on her mind.
