Diva
is my family's first cat that we raised from a tiny two-week-old kitten to
a full grown sassy cat. She has always been an eye catcher and always draws
attention to herself as she struts into a room with such confidence. Although
she isthe smallest of seven cats in my household, she easily makes sure everyone
knows that she is the queen with her mesmerizing green gaze or if needed, a
loving whack (no claws) to the offending party.
She became a permanent part of my family in December 2012 when I managed to
convince my parents to let me give her as a Christmas gift to my roommate,
who grew so attached to Diva as we fostered her. There was one point when I
had "trained" Diva to find her mommy, my roommate, by taking her down the
hallway from our room, putting her down, and telling her "Diva, go find Mama,
Diva. Go to Mama, Diva." I would watch her little waddle run down the hall,
chirping all the way, back into our room and I knew she had found my roommate
when I heard "Aw Diva, my little baby. Donna! stop training my cat!" Sadly,
she has grown out of that enjoyable habit, but she still brings joy to our
lives every day because we never know quite what she is planning to do.
