Chelsy, the Cat of the Day
Name: Chelsy
Age: One year old
Gender: Female
Kind: Persian
Home: Mangalore, India

My pet is a persian kitten. Her name is Chelsy. She just turned one year old yesterday. She is beautiful, loves eating fruits, is very active, loves playing with strings and is very good at playing with with small colorful balls. She is a darling, very graceful. Everyone loves her. Her coat is silky and soft.

She is very intelligent. She has learnt how to climb on her hind legs and tap the front door latch. It makes a bell sound and she gets our attention to go out, because we don't pay attention when she just sits near the front door.

She plays ball very well. We kick it to her. She catches it in both her front paws and then kicks it to us back does this very well. She drinks water from a cup and we have to let it fall and make a trickle like the tap. We have to feed her all the fruit first, then have our share. You just have to wash a fruit and she knows and comes running. If we delay, then she jumps up and we have to feed her it. She love fruit juices too.

Every night she has to come on the bed and bring her nose near our nose check if we are breathing and sits near our legs for two minutes then gets down. If my child is coughing she will leave her play and come sit and wait till she is normal before she goes back to playing. I got a wound on my leg, and she knew and came and licked it and went to show that she cares to show that I have been hurt, she knows about it.

She love to watch birds and insects; she attacks them just like a tiger would do. She tries to catch them but is scared of crows. She makes a soft sound, thinking they will run away. She never makes much noise at all. There is no irritating meow sound at all from her, only a soft sound, "ma," which is a signal to put her down if she doesn't want to be carried. She jumps on all the furniture and is very fast and active. No one has seen a Persian cat so active. She plays with anything that flies or shakes or makes a soft sound. Every month we have to get her something new.

She loves to go for walks and people all over our place, at the malls and beaches have taken photos of her. She gives such good poses for the camera. We have a load of videos and photos, many tricks and funny moments of hers. She listens to my younger daughter's commands. Even "come fast," and Chelsy comes running very quickly. She understands so many words. We love her very much.
