Our cat Saus means the world to us. Not only is she our beloved companion and family member, she helped bring my husband and I together. One day when Andrew and I were just friends, he invited me to come and see his new kitten, a Lilac point British Shorthair. It became a regular occurrence, and we quickly fell in love during these kitty play dates.
Now, three years later, we have moved with Saus and her brother Poki across the world from Europe to Australia. She's very happy in the warm weather here. Her favorite place to hang out is on top of my husband's shirts, whether they are on our bed or in the laundry basket. She's still a real daddy's girl.
She's very shy around new people and prefers to hide until our guests leave. However, she always runs straight out of her hiding spot when she hears the sound of a knife scraping some butter onto toast. She gets extremely excited and begs for it, even though it's not something she's allowed to eat.
It took a long time for her to get along with her adopted little brother Poki. Now he's grown bigger than her and it's clear who's boss. She's happy to let him grab the attention though. She'd rather relax out of the limelight anyway. That said, she does steal the show on our family blog. She's just too cute not to photograph over and over again! We love you Saus!
