This is Pete. Pete is the step-brother of Fuzzbomb. (They have a love-hate relationship, which mainly consists of ignoring each other, with the occasional face-off thrown in.)
We think Pete lived in the neighbourhood before he moved in with us, as we saw him regularly in the garden, in a variety of cheap plastic collars, many of which he managed to prise off and leave in the flowerbeds. He wasn't starving, but he was quite nervous, and seemed to have had some sort of accident previously, as one side of his face sometimes looked a bit lopsided (in a Billy Idol sort of way).
As time went on, he became more friendly, and move brave. One hot summer night, when it was just too warm to sleep in the bedroom, I decided to try sleeping on the sofa in the living room instead. A little while later, Pete very carefully jumped up, and lay down on my legs - and as he's a big, heavy, furry cat, this just made things even hotter!
Anyway, that was a few years ago now, and since then, he's moved in permanently with us, becoming a real part of the family. He loves to eat, to sleep, and to play with his catnip toys, and despite his fat belly, he has amazing jumping and catching skills!
