After the loss of our 13-year-old Maine Coon, we researched breeds for our next cat. We were told that Ragdolls are very affectionate, and tend to be lap cats.
Well, while Neo is indeed a loving, happy cat, he is definitely not a lap cat! Like all Ragdolls, he goes completely limp when picked up, but the minute you sit down, he jumps down. The only time he will let you hold him is when he wants his belly rubbed.
When he wants a treat, Neo will give you a high five. If you're too far away for that, he waits until you're looking at him, then stands on his back feet and waves both front paws over his head to get your attention. Since he was a kitten Neo has loved sleeping in his blue bowl on the kitchen table. Even though he is now too big for the bowl he still finds a way to squeeze in for his cat naps.
Neo is extremely friendly with strangers, and very curious – whenever the doorbell rings, he runs to the door and waits to see who is visiting. He has brought a lot of joy into our lives, and we just hope that we're repaying the favor to him.
