Merel (which means BlackBird in English) is special because she used to be a stray. A friend of mine adopted her when she was living the in neighborhood where Merel used to live (Merel was still very young back then). When my friend moved, she took Merel with her.
I adopted Merel and gave her a forever home when my friend asked me if I could do this because she couldn't take care of Merel anymore and she didn't want to bring the cat to a shelter.
We were told the reason why Merel was put on the street by her breeders was because she has wasn't completely perfect. You can't see it in the photo, but one side of her mouth is a little lower. She is the biggest cuddle-cat I've ever met or had myself. And as far as I am concerned, she is a perfect as a cat could be.
