Jacquespot came to live with us when he was only four weeks old, much too young to leave his mother. However, his family, who were French (hence his name) were moving back to France and Jacquespot and his two brothers had to be put up for adoption. He needed a bit of care when he arrived, but after shots and quite a bit of petting, everyone adored him. He was awfully tiny, but had enormous whiskers and eyebrows. Later, he grew into the whiskers and eyebrows, but at first they were extraordinary. He was born on April first, so he arrived just in time for croquet season. He immediately got into the game. He chased the balls and especially liked to run through the wickets. Uncannily, he always seemed to block whatever wicket was being played. He definitely added to the game.
Sad to say, while croquet is still his sport he no longer fits through the wickets. He is now 12 years old and weighs 12 pounds. He always shows up when a game is on, but these days he just chases the balls - or playfully bites the croquet players. A few years ago Jacquespot started a business. It was a rainy day escort service. When not busy escorting, he generally hangs about looking very handsome.
