This is Smudge. She was one of four kitties born in our back yard. One day I noticed the mother and three siblings were gone and poor Smudge was left in our back yard all alone. We never did see the mama or babies again. We brought her in where she quickly became friends with my mother who just loved her. They would sit for hours together napping and watching TV.
After my mother passed away, Smudge seemed to miss her but has become friends with me. She still prefers to stay in my mom's old bedroom most of the day. She rarely goes upstairs, preferring to stay downstairs. She does greet me every morning and tells me about her night, and escorts me to the kitchen where she get a bite of stinky cat food. She's a sweet gal and I'm glad she and my mom got to love each other.
