This is Tim. He showed up wet, hungry and skinny in our garage during a storm. We live on a small ranch in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and had seen a young white and gray cat hunting in the hills of our pastures for a few months and thought he was a neighbor's cat. It turns out he was a stray so we started feeding him. It took about a month of feeding and softly talking to him to get him to let us touch him. Once we got his trust we got him to the vet for all his innoculations, found out he was already neutered, healthy and about two years old. He was mad about the trip, but decided to adopt us anyway.
Tim was very shy for a number of years with any new people that he met. He also would scare us to death and disappear for about two weeks each summer. We believe his wild side called for an annual "walk about". He would come home dirty, skinny and with burrs in his long fur. Thankfully as he has aged he stays very close to home, only cruises on our property and likes to sleep in our bed with us every night. He demonstrates that if you can live through your wild years, you can retire to a nice, safe home and get steak/chicken/ham treats a few times a week!
We love him.
