Victoria the Calico, the Cat of the Day
Name: Victoria
Age: Five years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Calico
Home: Texas, USA

I have three cats, and one of those three is Victoria. She is a calico, and she is about five years old. She lives with me, my parents, and two other cats, who will later be named, in Texas.

Victoria is currently the longest living cat I have remembered ever having. My parents originally got a kitten named Keebler, though I never saw him. My mother accidentally killed him with a flea-bath. To hide it from me, she got Victoria. Either way, I still love her. Another reason we got her was so our cat at the time, Barney, would have a friend to be with. He, sadly and unfortunately, died of a heart attack later on. Victoria was very depressed after that: she would not eat properly, play, she would claw different things, and she just wasn't herself. To cheer her up, we got a torbie, AKA a tortoiseshell tabby, named Heidi. Now they are like sisters. Heidi, too, is about 5 years old now.

After we got them, it wasn't long until we moved to Rhode Island. It was a long drive for them, especially since it was about a thirteen-hour drive. (North Carolina to Rhode Island.) Victoria had a hard time in Rhode Island, and so did Heidi, since we lived in an apartment. She adjusted, just like any other would do. That's when she got into the habit of "if it fits I sits." She would jump into suitcases, boxes, CHEW boxes, curl up into her now-too-small cat post, and more. Heidi would just sleep on dirty clothes

Everything, to me, is special about Victoria. She would sleep with me on my bed some nights, and when I was sick, she would "check up" on me. She got out only once, and we found her just before I had to go to one of my dance recitals. After about two years of living in Rhode Island, we moved to where I live now: Texas. I've only lived her for just over a year, and she's already gotten out multiple times. She apparently likes it out in the neighborhood, but it's too dangerous outside with all the territorial cats and dogs. Heidi only got out once here. When we first moved here, I don't know how she managed to get up into the (at the time) empty cupboards. It was SO adorable! She has overgrown the cat post, but she does not care. She will lay in it every day.

We got a new addition recently: Lucky. Lucky will not leave Victoria alone. She just wants to play play play! Victoria will still crawl into small spaces, like my dresser, and I love her enough to tale out the drawer and pull her out. It's funny doing it, because then I spend about 10 minutes re-installing the drawer! haha. Victoria sleeps with me almost every night at the foot of my bed. In my eyes, the most special thing about her, is her personality. She's lively, yet lazy. She manages to be the cutest thing in the world without even trying, and she is mature. Unless the bundle of energy we call Lucky gets on her nerves . Otherwise, she's probably the best thing in the world that has happened to me! She's like my special companion.
