Mandy (short for (Katmandu) was with us for 19 years, and was feisty as they come. She was so ferocious with others that we had to change vets, because the one we had been using was afraid of her!
But she loved to "box-play" with my husband. Mandy also loved to pounce on her squeaky stuffed mouse on a string, and slept with it as if it was her baby! It (the mouse) was also a "tortie shell," just like Mandy.
She is a tortie shell/calico mix, and the coloring on her face was half and half! She was a very beautiful kitty. As a point of interest, calicos are the state cat of Maryland, from where we adopted her.
She was the first cat we ever owned that wasn't a Siamese. We miss her a lot.
