This is our girl, Candy. For many years, our family wanted another cat after years of a catless house. We had three cats before our twins were born in 2007, Fattie, Fee and Anna. They passed away when the girls were babies. Fattie actually was Cat of the Day in June of 2003!
We got Candy on September 23, 2016. We named her Candy because my daughters love candy and it is also part of the name of a Bruce Springsteen song. Coincidentally, her gotcha date is Bruce's birthday.
We got Candy at the SPCA. At first were looking at some other cats but one of the employees insisted we look at this one-eyed tuxedo cat. We instantly fell in love with her and knew we needed to have her. She climbed into my daughter's arms purring away and we just knew she belonged to us.
When she came to live with us, her gratitude for getting her out of the cage she lived in at the SPCA, was so evident in her face and we were all filled with love for her.
She loves to play fetch and she loves to cuddle in bed at night with my daughters. She also greets people at the door like a dog. She is an indoor cat and I think she loves that, while staring at the wildlife from the window. She is friendly and the most adorable cat ever invented!!
