Mr. Eko lives at Dark Star Books in Yellow Springs, OH, a very mellow cat in a mellow village. He grew up in the bookstore and he loves to be with his customers. He has his favorite chair, although sometimes he sits on top of the cash register and the buzzer goes off! Folks sometimes come in just to visit Eko. He is very calm and loves the attention; he does well with most ages -- but the very tiniest get to him when they start to cry. Then he goes and hides! He has toys like a big peacock feather, but the best things are when his "visitors" have dangling things from their coats and purses. You never know when Eko might strike from behind the bookshelves, too.
He loves to sleep in empty boxes or on piles of books. He spends much of the day sleeping because at night he looks out the front door at all the life going by. He plays nosies with the dogs and cats that come to the door. We can't let dogs come into the store--it's his territory! We all love our Mr. Eko.
