I would like to show you my beloved Chester as a memorial to him. He passed away on Saturday, 12/14/13 at the age of fourteen and a half. I rescued Chester and his brother out of the bushes as scrawny little feral kittens when they were just barely 3 weeks old. They were starving and covered in ringworm. I brought them home, nursed them back to health and managed to give ringworm to everyone in the household, including the dog! Chester grew into a large, healthy boy at about 16lbs before he became ill. He was built like a tank and had a very strong, happy, boisterous personality and he loved everyone.
Chester was very amusing and entertaining and had me trained to do many things for his personal pleasure. He only drank out of my bathroom faucets, and demanded this every morning. He also loved to play with his catnip toys and was very fond of "bunny-kicking" every bathroom rug in the house until it was wadded up in a ball. Chester also really loved his treats, but more than anything, Chester loved ME. I was his mama and he was very protective of me. All the other animals knew he was in charge and that he got first dibs on me when I sat down and if they didn't move, he just plopped his big behind on top of them until they finally gave up and squeezed out from under him! He was definitely the man of the house. Chester was also a champion snuggler and loved to take naps with me.
He was just the best kitty and the most wonderful, loving companion. There will always be a special place in my heart for him, and I miss him, but remember him fondly, every day.
