Shila (pronounced as She-la) was born in Ankara, Turkey. Shila was five weeks old when she came to us as she was orphaned, one month after my first cat died. We were all worried that she was too little to fly, but everything went okay, apart from the fact that she was crying loudly for food during the flight. Shila won the heart of all the passengers and flight attendants. Nobody asked to see her documents at the airport; they were busy admiring her cuteness.
Shila is an indoor cat. She is always in move, running, trying to reach doors, the highest places and our shoulders. Whenever we come back from work, she is waiting behind the front door to greet and play with us. She refuses to stay alone, sometimes she is sleeping and when I leave her alone in the room she will wake up and follow me.
She sleeps in my bed at night; she used to sleep in my pillow when she was younger, just by my head and played with my hair. Like most of cats, she hates doors: She will cry behind a shut door until you let her in. If the door is a sliding one, though, she will open it by herself.
She is the spoilt baby and the joy of our house.
