We rescued this sweet girl from the shelter nearly 17 years ago. We found out she had already been adopted previously but was returned to the shelter because the people changed their minds. She was frightened and shivering and looked like she would rather be anywhere else.
We brought her to her forever home where she quickly fit right in with her three kitty-siblings and developed a loving bond with us - and especially my wife - which continues today. They are inseparable when under the same roof.
What makes Snickers special is her resilience and bravery. She has battled health issues for years and for the past three years has dealt with a particularly painful malady that requires unpleasant dosing of medication twice daily. She takes it like a champ and lets us know how appreciative of life she is and continues to be in her own special ways. Any other cat likely would have thrown in the towel by now, but not our brave Snickers!
She is a role model who loves life and brings beauty and joy into our home.
