Hotcakes is special because we found him when he was a tiny kitten starving under a shed at the local McDonald's. Some customers were feeding him hotcakes because he was so hungry. We took the little guy home and tried to nurse him back to health. Let me tell you he was a handful, as wild as can be. He finally tamed a lot and became a super pet. He never really forgot his early days - to this day he will eat anything you can think of. Therefore his name Hotcakes really fits. We recently got another cat from the human society and named her Sausage. Hotcakes and Sausage!!!
Hotcakes loves to hide behind furniture and wait until someone walks by, then he jumps out and scares you to pieces. You can tell when he is up to no good because he gets this look in his eyes like he is going to shoot across the room at any moment. He is always full of surprises. One time he broke in through the basement window with a squirrel in his mouth that was as big as him. He is very affectionate when he wants to be. If he is not in the mood he will gently bite at your fingers, but you'd better take the hint because the second warning is not so gentle! Hotcakes only knows one trick. When feeding him kitty treats, I have trained him to pat my hand with his paw when he wants one. He is really good at this trick and loves his treats. Other than that he sleeps often and eats equally as often. We love him!
