This is Buttercup, though we usually call her "Bubs." She's a former stray cat who is in the vicinity of 12 years old. She is named after Princess Buttercup from the Princess Bride, though "Princess Butterball" might have been a better name for her. Bubs loves to eat. Shrimp is her favorite delicacy, but she's also a fan of chicken, pork, and the trimmings from a good steak.
Bubs regularly seduces dinner guests with her charms. As a meal winds down, she will hop onto a guest's lap pretending she wants to cuddle. Purring up a storm, Bubs then uses her new vantage point to reach out a paw and swipe leftovers from their plate. We warn new friends before dinner that she does this, but they always let their guard down once they lock eyes with her. Thankfully this only works once. Friends who come back for another meal have learned to not be fooled by those big, imploring green eyes.
