We found Katie one week after the 9/11 attacks, and she has been such a blessing to our family. We drove two hours to find her, and I think she was just as happy to see us as we were to see her. The family that had her wasn't taking good care of her and she practically jumped into our arms when we opened her cage.
We think Katie is special in every way, because she gives such joy to our family. She thinks she is a dog and would prefer to play with dogs over cats. She is the only cat we've every seen that loves to be brushed and loves to lay on her back while you scratch her belly.....she even plays fetch! We almost named her Liberty given the time we got her but decided on Katie, a.k.a., Big Nose Kate because of the markings on her nose, makes her nose look huge. So we gave her the namesake of "Big Nose Kate," Doc Holiday's girlfriend.
