This
is Juche (pronounced Joo-shay). It is Korean, for "Man
Creates His Own Destiny." We teach TaeKwonDo, and that is one of
the form names. We liked how it sounded for a Himmy, and love the
meaning. He is a Blue Point Himalayan. He is seven months old in the
larger picture, but is now two and a half years (smaller picture).
Juche he came to us as a gift from a dear friend. He was so loving
from day one. He loves to play with ping pong balls, and snuggles
with us at night. One of his favorite things to do, is to be chased
by one of us "human pets." He can play chase for hours, if
we could only keep up with him. When we first got him, we wondered
why he would kinda get the big eyes, arch and then run away from us.
It took us a good month to realize that he was playing. Then, as the
time went by, he came to expect at least one good chase each evening.
He will run through the house to get our attention, one of us will
get up and creep towards him, then he will arch... walk sideways...
and then take off. We chase him, he runs, then we hide. He then
sneaks out and finds us, jumps and takes off again. This can go on
for nearly an hour, on a good night. He just loves it. (We do too, if
the truth be known!) When the chase is over, he sits on our lap,
kneads us, and purrs himself to sleep. It is so nice!
Juche has become such an important member of our family. He knows
when we need to have extra love, and when to leave us to ourselves.
He is the sweetest little guy! We just adore him, and enjoy having
him in our family! He truly is a great cat.
