Ebony has taken care of our family for so long, it is hard to
remember life when she wasn't here. Although she has slowed down a
little (she doesn't jump from the floor to the tops of doors
anymore), she lovingly watches over us as she always has. Our girls
were in high school when our daughter brought Ebony (then ten weeks
old) home from the Humane Society in Indianapolis. Our girls are now
in their 30's and Ebony continues to be an important part of
"home" when they bring their families here for a visit.
Although very lady-like in behavior, Ebony has never pleasantly
meowed. Instead, her Siamese-type yowl can be heard in all corners of
the house. She is the senior member of a five-cat household, and
although she is the smallest among them, she keeps each and every one
in their place.
Watching birds used to be a favorite pastime, but Ebony's eyesight
isn't as good as it used to be and she is now a little unsure where
we are calling her from because her hearing has weakened. But, she
has kept her girlish figure, and her lovely black fur is as silky and
beautiful as ever. She loves to curl up beside us in "her"
chair, and we hope the good Lord will keep her healthy, happy and
here for a long time yet.
