About Us
Teddy, Murphy & Leo, the Cats of the Day
Name: Teddy, Murphy & Leo
Age: Seven years old
Gender: Male
Breed: Orange Tabbies
Home: Reseda, San Fernando Valley, California, USA

These orange tabbies (Teddy in front, Murphy on the back left and Leo on the back right) have been the best pets I have ever had. We got them seven years ago from a friend of a friend who was renting out her house. The woman was behind on her rent and moved out one night leaving a mother cat and six kittens behind. The landlord found them and fed them until the end of the month when they were to go to the animal shelter.

We went over on the last day to get what was left (one, maybe two kittens) and the three brown and black cats were gone and these three guys were what was left behind.

They have turned out to be the smartest, most affectionate, most loyal cats I have ever seen. They all do tricks, come individually when called by name and are a constant source of joy. Leo (the short haired one with white on him) catches tissue paper when I throw it up in the air and tell him to catch; then he attacks it on the floor and shreds it to tiny pieces. Also, when he's standing by me or walking, I hold just the tip of his tail and wave it back and forth and tell him to fall down, and he tips over on his side and lays there. Teddy stands up when I put my thumb and first finger together and repeat "up" a few times.

When we first got them, they were underweight, had eye and respiratory infections and were not in very good health; I wondered if they would ever grow much or be healthy. Today they all weigh between 15 and 18 pounds and are big beautiful healthy cats. I don't know how I ever got along without them. They're terrific cats and have given me a tremendous amount of happiness.
