Vasco
is a house-bound gent who prefers the idle life of lounging
with much snacking in between to any strenuous activity except for
when he decides to bug me while I am trying to work as seen here.
Vasco is named after Vasco De Gama the great explorer. Which as it
turns out was not very appropriate given that he has not yet left the
back yard and is one of the most highly strung cats I've ever come
across! He would rather be cosy with his personal Shar-pei/pillow whom
we call Neve than chasing his sister Rosie the Red Aby over
neighborhood roofs.
He has definitely filled out since this photo was taken - he loves
his food, unlike his sister Rosie who is still very slim. Vasco only
meows when he wants us to get out of bed on the weekends. He does,
however, have a mean purr - it's the loudest we've heard! He tends to
be most affectionate around Neve (the shar pei) much to her chagrin -
it's not easy to sleep with a furball all over you! He really
doesn't like to be picked up by we humans and will only be patted
when he's ready for it.
