Here
is my cat Ernie. She is 1/2 Persian. I met her at the shelter in
March of this year and I fell in love straight away. Our other cat is
a female two-year-old European shorthair named Bert. Bert was given
her name by my nephew Thomas, who does not know the difference
between a male and a female cat. He wanted to have this cat named
Bert. Bert on Sesame Street has a friend named Ernie, so that is why
my cat got this name. (The name she had in the shelter was Reza).
She eats Iams and she has clay in her litterbox. We first had some
kind of wood in it. Bert used it, but Ernie just sat next to it.
To me Ernie is so special because she chose me as a person she
likes. Whenever I come home, she is there on top of the stairs
Miauwing and telling me all the thing she did when I was away. Then I
walk towards my computer and when she feels she has not had enough
attention, she just sits in front of it and won't move until I have
combed her hair and told her that she is a pretty, pretty girl. When
I have to go to the bathroom she comes along and waits for me just
outside the door. This cat has principles. Her favorite sleeping
place is a carton, as small as possible where she can still fit in.
The food she just loves is Gourmet gold. Although she is a bit
overweight, she eats only half of this small tin. The other half is
for Bert, our other cat. As you can see, we love Sesame Street.
Perhaps it is funny to some people, but we love Bert and Ernie.
