My
little cat is the smallest in a house of thirteen. She came to me
when she was only three weeks old. Someone cruel stuffed her down an
exposed pipe where she became wedged. Her persistent crying alerted a
good samaritan to her rescue. Unable to take her home and care for
her, he contacted me. Originally my plan was to care for her until I
could place her in a permanent home when she was eight weeks or older.
But because she was so terrified we couldn't put her down for three
days we all became attached. So my husband and I carried her around,
taking turns holding her. We even slept sitting up with her.
Now, totally adjusted she lives here with us in New York and is our
joy. She's almost a year now and never became big cat size. Visitors
think she's a young kitten. Her favorite position is to be around
your neck. You can stand straight with her perched there and even
walk around. She never uses her claws and never falls. We call her
B.K. for baby kitty and she always answers to her name. She gives
kisses freely even to strangers. She's taught me that even when the
toughest things might be happening a great thing is just around the
corner. Sometimes you have to yell for it...loud.
