My
name is Boo and I'm a cat, a black cat, pure black with gold eyes.
I think I'm about one year old. One day late last summer, I woke up to
discover myself at this Bible camp with a whole lot of people and a
few cats. I figured that this wasn't going to be such a bad place to
live. So I started to make friends, then I heard the Lady that was in
charge of the place saying that she was going to call the pound, and
have me removed. Well, you know what that means - puddy cat heaven.
Well time to look for a sucker to take me home. I tried a lot of
people but they weren't interested in a adult cat. Well, I was out in
the parking lot when I spotted this guy doing some maintenance work
on one of the buildings. You know, he looked simple enough, so I
approached him and he picked me up. Now I had to put on my best act.
I purred like you would never believe, I smooch him, I marked him, I
- well you know the routine. I thought "I've got this guy in my
pocket" (figuratively speaking). All of a sudden this guy goes
home and leaves me. I figured that's that. Next day he comes back,
picks me up and says I can come home with him but his wife is afraid
of cats, and I would have to be an outside cat. Well I purred up to
her a couple of times and she weakened a wee bit. It wasn't till it
rained the first time, I stood out side the patio door soaking wet,
meowing very pitifully. Well, that broke her down, inside at last. At
first, only the guy's workshop. Then the hallway. Now it's everywhere
but the bedroom and that's next. If government was left to us cats,
what a wonderful word it would be to live in.
