Believe
it or not, this handsome, hearty, robust fella is sixteen years
old! My Mouse is special since he has had several brushes with death
in his years. He was abandoned in an empty warehouse when a kitten.
When he was eight weeks old he had pneumonia, and the vet gave him a
slim chance of survival due to a temperature of 108. He has had
several bouts of kidney/liver disfunction with the last case being so
severe he was given a 70/30 chance of survival (not in his favor). He
had lost a lot of weight and was not eating. He spent two weeks in the
hospital, and when he was finally sent home, we had to feed him
through a tube for the next two. He eventually (as you can see) began
eating on his own again. Believe it or not that was five years ago! I am
a proud Mama! We have a special bond since I have been there for
Mouse and he has also been there for me after the loss of my mother
and brother, and even when I'm just feeling down, he never leaves
my side.
