I'd
like to nominate my pet for cat for pet of the day. What makes
Zaccheaus special? I'm a minister and I found him sitting in a tree
crying. I said, "Come down from that tree!" and he did!
I've never owned a cat but Zaccheaus has made a believer out of me!
Zaccheaus' name comes from the Bible (the tax collector who was up in
a tree to see Jesus). Since I found him in a tree, it seemed to fit.
This is especially true since he thought the Christmas tree was his
own private climbing post.
Zack is very mellow and loves people, but doesn't play so well with
other cats. He's never far from a warm lap. His favorite game is
"cat dancer" (chasing a wad of paper on the end of a flimsy
wire that bounces around). He also likes to stalk the birds on the
nature channel, but he doesn't seem to understand why he never
catches one. What endears him to me the most is that he is a
considerate cat. The one time he had to throw up... He did it in his
litter box instead of on the carpet. And when he wakes me in the
morning and I tell him it's a "sleep-in" day, he lays back
down and waits for me to get up.
