This
is Jade. She is a lovely, sweet calico. She has a very special
place in the hearts of myself and my husband because we really didn't
find her...she found us. :) We had been baby sitting a friend's cat
for two weeks and had just given her back two days before.
We realized that we missed having a furry friend
around and had just started thinking about a trip to the humane
society when we were out in our apartment's parking lot and heard a
soft little meowing. Next thing I knew I had a tiny, emaciated,
scruffy-looking cat rubbing all over my legs and begging for love and
attention. After that, there was no doubt about it - she picked us
out. After a week of trying to find any previous owners, we adopted
her. She has gone from a four-pound starving cat to a lovely,
filled-out (ten pounds!), shiny coat calico with a sweet disposition.
Her favorite pastimes include romping around the house with her new
brother, Six (ten months old, grey tabby), chewing and playing with
mint gum, chasing shadows, chasing and eating any and all bugs she
finds in the house, playing with Corn Pops and hiding them in Daddy's
shoes (much to his chagrin... hee hee), and sleeping in the bay
window in the afternoon sunshine. She has a very gentle and delicate
nature and is shy around people she doesn't know. But, of course, she
always has time for people with a treat. She is extremely
affectionate with her Daddy and I, and always loves a good cuddle. I
think she's pretty special.
